Overview of NS142 (NS1402) corrosion-resistant alloy: It is a fully austenitic nickel iron chromium alloy stabilized with titanium, with the addition of copper and molybdenum. Ns142 is a versatile engineering alloy that exhibits resistance to acid and alkali metal corrosion in both oxidizing and reducing environments. Application of NS142 (NS1402) corrosion-resistant alloy: Used in various industrial fields with operating temperatures not exceeding 550 ºC.
NS142 (NS1402) alloy characteristics:
NS142 (NS1402) has stress corrosion cracking resistance, resistance to spot corrosion and Crevice corrosion, good chemical resistance and non chemical hot acid performance, good mechanical properties at room temperature and high temperature up to 550 ºC, and is certified as a pressure vessel with manufacturing temperature up to 450 ºC. Welding: suitable for welding with the same material or other metals using any traditional welding process, such as tungsten inert gas welding, plasma arc welding Manual sub arc welding, metal inert gas welding and MIG welding, among which pulsed Arc welding is the option. When Shielded metal arc welding is adopted, it is recommended to use (Ar+He+H2+CO2) mixed shielding gas. Welding must be carried out in the annealed state and cleaned of stains, dust, and various marks using a stainless steel wire brush.
Welding and application of NS142 (NS1402):
NS142 (NS1402) is used in various industrial fields where the service temperature is not more than 550 ºC, such as heating pipes, containers, baskets and chains used in sulfuric acid pickling plants, seawater cooling heat exchangers, marine product pipeline systems, acid gas environment pipelines, heat exchangers in phosphoric acid production, evaporators, washing, immersion tubes, air heat exchangers in petroleum refining, Food engineering, chemical processes Flame retardant alloys for high-pressure oxygen applications.
When welding at the root of the weld seam of NS142 (NS1402), in order to obtain excellent quality of the root weld seam, the operation must be very careful (99.99% gas), so that no chemicals are produced in the weld seam after the root welding is completed. The color generated in the welding heat affected zone should be brushed off with a stainless steel brush before the weld area cools down.
NS1402 alloy is a Ni Fe Cr Mo Cu corrosion-resistant alloy stabilized with Ti. This alloy has good resistance to general and local corrosion, as well as good process performance. In recent years, almost all high-pressure air coolers made of carbon steel in China have corrosion and leakage problems. Therefore, The petrochemical department requires domestic refineries processing high sulfur crude oil to use NS1402 alloy as the main material for the high-pressure air cooler in the new hydrocracking and residual oil hydrogenation units to ensure the long cycle of the high-pressure air cooler.
