Product Description

Hastelloy X alloy is a Solid solution strengthening nickel base superalloy. The main Solid solution strengthening elements are Mo, W and Cr, which have good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. This alloy has good high-temperature performance and can be used for a long time below 900 ºC, with a short-term working temperature of 1080 ºC. Mainly used for manufacturing high-temperature parts such as blades and combustion chamber parts of aircraft engines, the forms of thermal cracks and erosion caused by them are now repaired by welding methods. Meanwhile, HastelloyX alloy can resist carbonization and nitridation.
Good antioxidant properties
Hastelloy X is an alloy with excellent oxidation resistance, reduction resistance, and neutral environmental capabilities, suitable for furnaces and jet engines, operating up to 1200 degrees Celsius. This alloy forms a protective and tough oxide film that does not peel off, thus maintaining oxidation resistance at high temperatures.
Resistance to carbonization and nitridation
Hastelloy X alloy is resistant to carburization and nitriding, which can lead to high-temperature alloy failure.
Good high-temperature strength, good formability and weldability
Hastelloy X alloy has good manufacturability. The work hardening rate of this alloy is equivalent to that of austenite. The mechanical processing performance in the annealed state is good. This alloy can be welded through most fusion and resistance. Hastelloy X alloy can be produced by AOD refining or Vacuum induction melting. Vacuum arc or Electro-slag remelting can be used to further refine the material.
Resistance to stress corrosion cracking
The thermal conductivity of Hastelloy X alloy is lower than that of ordinary alloy stainless steel, and larger gaps need to be left when using standard grooves to ensure complete penetration of the weld seam. Spot welding requires relatively long welding time and water cooling to form a complete fusion nucleus, avoid coring or corrosion isolation, and treat seam welding differently. Intermittent driving operations are required to facilitate welding with maximum forging pressure, eliminate cracks, and minimize deformation. Fusion welding has high ductility, and it is recommended to use TIG welding for sheets below 3.2mm and MIG welding for sheets above 3.2mm. Hastelloy X can also use appropriate procedures and brazing alloys to braze alloys. Large or complex fusion welds are usually subjected to stress relief heat treatment.
Hastelloy X smelting process:
Hastelloy X alloy can adopt the process of electric arc furnace+electroslag or non vacuum induction furnace+Electro-slag remelting. The production of castings uses an induction furnace to remelt the parent alloy and pour it into a heated mold shell.
Hastelloy X forging process:
Hastelloy X alloy with forging heating temperature of 1170 ºC± 10 ºC, and final forging temperature not less than 950 ºC; The heating temperature of slab hot rolling is 1150 ºC± 10 ºC, and the final rolling temperature is not less than 850 ºC;
The heating temperature of the environmental components is 1170 ºC± 10 ºC.
Hastelloy X heat treatment process:
Plate solid solution treatment: 1150 ºC± 10 ºC, 2-15 minutes, rapid air cooling.
Welding or flame tube treatment: 980 ºC± 10 ºC, 60min, air cooled.
Stress relief treatment after machining: 870 ºC± 10 ºC, 30-60 minutes, air cooled.
Stable dimensional treatment of parts: 760 ºC± 10 ºC, 2 hours, air-cooled.
